Field Trips

On Saturday, May 18, we'll be having a field trip to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden for macro photography. We are very fortunate to have Jose Dominguez joining us. Jose knows the garden very well and he will be guiding us on our field trip there.

Fairchild is one of the world's best tropical gardens. The botanic garden is 83 acres of extensive collections of rare tropical plants. It is internationally renowned for its research, conservation, horticulture and education programs.

We'll meet at the visitor's center at 8:00 AM. Fairchild is located at 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables.

Admission is $25 for adults and $18 for seniors 65 and over.  Fairchild is a member of the reciprocal program so you can use your annual membership to Flamingo Gardens for admission.   It must be a valid membership and you must show ID. 

Those who wish to carpool should meet at the Miami Herald building on Sheridan Street and I-75 at 7:00 AM and leave for Fairchild no later than 7:15 AM.
